Fort Mojave Domestic Violence Department

The Mission of Fort Mojave Indian Tribe Domestic Violence Program is to provide a safe and secure environment for all victims of domestic violence. The Vision of FMIT DV is to promote the healing of trauma, promote the nurturing of non-violence and respect for those individuals dealing with domestic violence. Also, to promote the Aha Makav cultural teachings, traditions and values.

The FMIT DV program is comprised of a Director, Receptionist, a Men’s Facilitator and two certificated Advocates. The Advocates provide access to services that enhance victim safety; to identify and prepare a plan to resolve problems that may impede victim/survivors’ access to resources in the social services network; to assist with the civil and criminal justice system and others.

The FMIT DV program includes a Men’s Facilitator that provides access to services which enhance the victim’s safety and to educate the perpetrators of Domestic Violence. The Facilitator works directly with court ordered individuals.

The FMIT DV’s primary service area will be for individuals at risk or suffering from incidents of crime residing within the boundaries of the Fort Mojave Indian reservation. The program also provides general information and referrals to individuals for services in other counties and tribal nations and the LGTBQ community. The program is fully supported allowing services free of charge.
