Workforce Development

Our Mission:

The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe Workforce Development Department

Seeks to provide services that will strengthen the workforce of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe as well as assist individuals in identifying their calling while becoming self-sufficient.

Services Include:

Career Counseling

  • Career Assessment

  • Career Plan Deployment

  • Research

  • Institution of Higher Education Research

  • Support with Higher Education Admission Process

Individual Employment Plans (IEP)

  • Complete an Intake Interview the Adult Case Manager in order to identify strengths and possible barriers

  • The Adult Case Manager and the Participant will develop a plan for overcoming barriers.

  • Goals are set in the IEP. Goals include, but are not limited to:

    • Obtain a GED

    • Completion of a Work Experience

    • Completing Job Readiness Classes

    • Job Searching/Obtaining Permanent Employment

  • The Adult Case Manager and the participant will meet regularly to monitor set goals and to set new goals.

Work Experience (WEX)

  • Must have completed intake

  • Must meet grant eligibility

  • Must be maintaining appointments

  • Able to acquire new skills that will help build a resume.

What are Support Services

  • Support Services assist participants in meeting needs that will allow them to complete their goals set in their IEP.

Who is Eligible for Support Services

  • Fort Mojave Tribal members are eligible for all support services.

  • Limited support services are available to descendants and individuals enrolled in a federally recognized tribe and meet grant eligibility requirements.

How to Access Support Services

  • Support Services are provided to Workforce Development participants who have completed the intake process and an IEP.

  • Participants must earn points by completing Department workshops & activities.

  • Points are then used as needed for support services

  • Points expire 90 days after the participant has obtained employment.

  • Rental and utility assistance are available to participants one-time per year.
